USES Allegra is an antihistamine that provides relief of seasonal allergy symptoms such as runny or itchy nose, sneezing, itchy throat, and watery, itchy, or red eyes. It is also used for hives.
HOW TO TAKE Take Allegra by mouth usually twice a day, with or without food. If you are using the suspension, shake the bottle well before use. Do not take antacids within 2 hours of taking allegra. Dosage is based on your medical condition, and response to treatment. In children, dosage is also based on age.
SIDE EFFECTS Stomach upset, menstrual cramps, back pain, cough, fever, stuffy nose, earache dizziness, rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
PRECAUTIONS Before taking allegra it is highly crucial of you to inform your doctor of yours and your family medical history in detail and of any other recent or current medication treatment. The elderly may be more sensitive to its side effects.
Allegra should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Do not stop, restart or change treatment without informing your doctor.
OVERDOSE If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly.
MISSED DOSE If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
STORAGE Store Allegra (U.S. products) at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C). Store Canadian products at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). Keep away from light and moisture. Keep away from children and pets.
